2019 Suffolk Care Conference

Wherstead Park – 21st March 2019

Over 120 providers of differing types of care service provisions from across Suffolk attended this year’s 2019 Suffolk Care Conference

It was very exciting to be able to open the conference with a recorded message from the Rt Hon Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.  Matt was unable to attend in person but wanted to express his support and appreciation to providers of care services within what is his home constituency in Suffolk.  A copy of the recording can be downloaded by clicking on the following link.

We were delighted to welcome Professor Martin Green OBE, CEO Care England as our keynote speaker who gave a very inspiring talk which certainly made an impact on those present.

After an excellent lunch Nick Hulme, Chief Executive and STP Lead for Suffolk & North East Essex spoke on integration between the health and social care sector – which must be the way forwards.

Other topics covered were ‘Becoming an Outstanding provision’ and a very insightful and thought-provoking presentation on the somewhat taboo subject of death (which is something we will all experience one day)  by Toby Scott from Hospice UK.

Our county’s own ‘Music Man’ Rat Travasso then had everybody up on their feet and singing demonstrating the benefit and enjoyment which music can create for elderly and vulnerable clients.

Add to this mix workshops on falls prevention, safeguarding, scams and frauds and diabetic diets.

The event was very well supported by many stands and exhibitors – full details can be read in the 2019 Suffolk Care Conference Newsletter and copies of all the presentations by clicking on the following links.
